Connaissances de base allocations familiales
Les allocations familiales sont réglées par la loi fédérale sur les allocations familiales (LAFam) et par des lois cantonales. Les allocations ont pour but de couvrir en partie les coûts que supportent les parents pour leurs enfants.
Que sont les allocations familiales ?
Les allocations familiales sont composées de l’allocation pour enfants, de l’allocation de formation professionnelle et, dans certains cantons, d’une allocation de naissance et d’adoption.
Allocation pour enfants
Une allocation pour enfants s’élève au moins à CHF 200.– par mois. Ce montant est valable pour les enfants jusqu’à 16 ans. Pour les enfants en incapacité de travail, les prestations sont versées jusqu’aux 20 ans.
Allocation de formation professionnelle
Une allocation de formation professionnelle s’élève au moins à CHF 250.– par mois. Ce montant s’applique aux enfants à partir du 16e anniversaire et jusqu’à la fin de la formation, mais plus tard jusqu’au 25e anniversaire.
Allocation de naissance et d’adoption
L’allocation de naissance et d’adoption n’existe que dans certains cantons, ceux-ci pouvant la fixer librement.
Qui y a droit ?
Les employé·e·s, les indépendant·e·s et les personnes sans activité lucrative qui subviennent aux besoins d’enfants ont droit à des allocations familiales, pour autant qu’ils/elles remplissent les conditions légales. Les allocations familiales sont versées en plus du salaire. Les indépendant·e·s ont droit aux mêmes prestations que les employé·e·s, à condition d’atteindre le revenu minimal annuel de CHF 7’350.–.

Quel parent reçoit les allocations ?
